History in the Era of Visual Media Seminar
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Biography Documentation Center organized a seminar entitled "History in the Era of Visual Media" on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, with the presence of HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the center. Presented by Prof. Maha bint Ali Alkhashil, a professor in the History Department at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. The seminar addressed several key topics, including: images as a visual documentation, images and historical research methodology, images and digital history, and methods for preserving and archiving images.
The seminar was moderated by Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Sulaiman, Advisor of the Studies, Research, and Production Department at the center. The event was attended by a number of officials and representatives from similar institutions, as well as a distinguished group of interested parties and researchers. This seminar provided a valuable opportunity for exchanging ideas and expertise among the attendees. In conclusion, HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz expressed her gratitude and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this event.
The Board of Directors Meeting
On wednesday, 05 June 2024 AD (28 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1445 AH), the Board of Directors of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center on convened for its second meeting of the third year of the second session under the leadership of HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. Other members in attendance included HRH Princess Madawi bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Anqari, H.E. Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani, H.E. Ms. Noura bint Abdullah Al-Fayez, H.E. Dr. Thuraya bint Ahmed Obaid, and the Council Secretary, Dr. Abdulhamid bin Muhammad Al-Sulaiman. During the meeting, HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz introduced the upgraded version of the Center's digital library system. The new system features simplified search options and enhanced filtering capabilities to improve the quality of search results.
Course: "The Art of Creative Writing"
The King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center hosted a training course on May 8, 2024 titled "The Art of Creative Writing", presented by Dr. Khaled Al-Dakhil, an Associate Professor at the College of Arabic Language, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. The course was attended by staff from the center and other related organizations, with the goal of introducing the elements of creative work, outlining the concepts and processes involved, differentiating between various types of creative writing, and enhancing participants' writing skills.
Visiting Egyptian newspapers
H.E. Dr. Abdul Hamid bin Muhammad Al-Sulaiman, the Secretary-General of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center, visited a number of Egyptian newspapers such as Al-Gomhouria, Akhbar Al-Youm, Al-Ahram, Al-Youm Al-Sabea, Dar Al-Hilal and the Middle East News Agency, accompanied by Mr. Nawaf bin Ahmed Al-Issa, the Director of the Shared Services Department, and Dr. Osama Lotfi, the Digital Content Advisor. During the visits, discussions were held regarding strengthening and enhancing the bilateral relations between the Center and the newspapers, and exploring opportunities for further development.
Poetry Evening in Celebration of Foundation Day
The Center hosted a poetry evening in honor of our founding day at our headquarters, with HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and H.E. Dr. Abdulhamid bin Muhammad Al-Sulaiman, the Secretary-General, in attendance. The event took place on Sunday, February 25, 2024, with the participation of poets Saad Al Shaya, Fatima Al-Mutad, and Maryam Al-Otaibi, and was moderated by Muhammad Al-Ammar, featured poems celebrating our homeland, folklore, and selections from various poets' collections. The event was well-attended by members of community who share an interest in poetry and folklore.
Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Center
On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, the inaugural session of the seventh meeting for the year 2024 was conducted by Her Royal Highness Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center. In the presence of esteemed members, HRH Princess Fahdah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, HRH Princess Seetah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, HRH Princess Madhawi bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Anqari, H.E. Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani and H.E. Ms. Noura bint Abdullah Al-Fayez. The Council received a comprehensive update on the Center's ongoing work and activities, and the agenda items were thoroughly discussed.
Course: "Renewal and Innovation in the Scientific Research"
As part of the activities organized by the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center, a professional training course titled "Renewal and Innovation in the Scientific Research" was conducted by Dr. Turki bin Abdulrahman Al-Muhaimeed, an Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Teaching Methods. In the presence of several employees from the Center as well as employees from other similar organizations, the objective of this course was to explore the concept of renewal and innovation in the scientific research. The course aimed to identify the barriers to renewal and innovation, distinguish between innovation skills and creative thinking, and provide practical techniques to foster innovation in the scientific research.
Virtual Scientific Seminar
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center recently organized a virtual scientific seminar titled "Knowledge Management Techniques and their Role in Digital Transformation in Documentary Institutions". The participants of the meeting included Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Mubarraz, a Professor at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Dr. Noura bint Nasser Al-Hazani, an Associate Professor at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Shaya, the General Supervisor of Digital Content and Technology Management at the Center. The seminar's objective is to bring attention to the concept of knowledge management and digital transformation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia while citing the experience of the Center digital transformation.
Course: "Optimizing Entities for Institutional Digital Repositories"
On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, a training course was conducted at the center. The course "Optimizing Entities for Institutional Digital Repositories" was presented by Eng. Masoud Al-Sharif, Director of Knowledgeware Technologies. The course was attended by several employees from the center as well as employees from other organizations.
A Poetry Night in celebration of the Arabic Language Day
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center hosted a poetry night in celebration of the World Arabic Language Day on December 18, 2023. The event was moderated by Dr. Dukhana bint Ali Al-Amari from Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. Notable participants included Prof. Al-Jawhara bint Bakhit Al-Jahjah from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Dr. Suad bint Sharaf Abu Shall from Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and Mr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al-Ammar from the Royal Commission in Jubail. The evening focused on themes such as excerpts from poetry, poetic reflections, and literary thoughts. The center also extended invitations to individuals interested in participating and benefiting from the event.
