Course: "Linguistic Skills in Scientific Writing"

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, corresponding to 19 Rabi' Al-Thani 1446 AH, the Center conducted a training course titled "Linguistic Skills in Scientific Writing” presented by Dr. Salem bin Wasil Al-Sumairi, Vice Dean of Admission and Registration for Graduate Studies at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. One of the key objectives of the course was to enhance linguistic communication within the scientific field, differentiate between various types of scientific writing, and apply effective scientific writing strategies. The course was attended by employees from the center as well as staff from other organizations.


The Visit of HRH the Chairperson of the Board of Directors to the Riyadh International Book Fair 2024

On Monday, September 30, 2024, HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the center, attended the Riyadh International Book Fair. During her visit, Her Highness toured the center's pavilion as well as several other pavilions at the fair.


The Center's Participation in the Riyadh International Book Fair 2024

The King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center participated in the Riyadh International Book Fair 2024, held from September 26 to October 5, 2024. This participation aligns with the center's commitment to contributing to and engaging in national events pertinent to its mission. The center's pavilion attracted a significant number of visitors, including various dignitaries and officials, who expressed positive engagement with the showcased materials documenting the life and legacy of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.


Board of Directors Meeting

Under the leadership of HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the board of directors of the center convened for its third meeting of the third year of the second session on Thursday, September 26, 2024. The meeting was attended by the board members: HRH Princess Madawi bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Anqari, H.E. Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani, H.E. Ms. Noura bint Abdullah Al-Fayez, and Dr. Abdulhamid bin Muhammad Al-Sulaiman, Secretary of the Council. The council was provided with an update on the center's ongoing initiatives and activities. The members engaged in discussions regarding agenda items and subsequently made several recommendations and decisions.


The Center's pavilion at the Medina Book Fair 2024

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz The center participated in the Medina Book Fair from 30 July to 5 August 2024, to fulfill the objectives of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center in contributing to national events relevant to its activities and in informing the public about the products and services it offers. The Center's pavilion attracted a significant number of visitors who engaged positively with the displayed materials documenting the biography of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.


History in the Era of Visual Media Seminar

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Biography Documentation Center organized a seminar entitled "History in the Era of Visual Media" on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, with the presence of HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the center. Presented by Prof. Maha bint Ali Alkhashil, a professor in the History Department at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. The seminar addressed several key topics, including: images as a visual documentation, images and historical research methodology, images and digital history, and methods for preserving and archiving images.
The seminar was moderated by Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Sulaiman, Advisor of the Studies, Research, and Production Department at the center. The event was attended by a number of officials and representatives from similar institutions, as well as a distinguished group of interested parties and researchers. This seminar provided a valuable opportunity for exchanging ideas and expertise among the attendees. In conclusion, HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz expressed her gratitude and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this event.

 
 


The Board of Directors Meeting

On wednesday, 05 June 2024 AD (28 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1445 AH), the Board of Directors of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center on convened for its second meeting of the third year of the second session under the leadership of HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. Other members in attendance included HRH Princess Madawi bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Anqari, H.E. Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani, H.E. Ms. Noura bint Abdullah Al-Fayez, H.E. Dr. Thuraya bint Ahmed Obaid, and the Council Secretary, Dr. Abdulhamid bin Muhammad Al-Sulaiman. During the meeting, HRH Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz introduced the upgraded version of the Center's digital library system. The new system features simplified search options and enhanced filtering capabilities to improve the quality of search results.

 


Course: "The Art of Creative Writing"

The King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center hosted a training course on May 8, 2024 titled "The Art of Creative Writing", presented by Dr. Khaled Al-Dakhil, an Associate Professor at the College of Arabic Language, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. The course was attended by staff from the center and other related organizations, with the goal of introducing the elements of creative work, outlining the concepts and processes involved, differentiating between various types of creative writing, and enhancing participants' writing skills.


Visiting Egyptian newspapers

H.E. Dr. Abdul Hamid bin Muhammad Al-Sulaiman, the Secretary-General of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center, visited a number of Egyptian newspapers such as Al-Gomhouria, Akhbar Al-Youm, Al-Ahram, Al-Youm Al-Sabea, Dar Al-Hilal and the Middle East News Agency, accompanied by Mr. Nawaf bin Ahmed Al-Issa, the Director of the Shared Services Department, and Dr. Osama Lotfi, the Digital Content Advisor. During the visits, discussions were held regarding strengthening and enhancing the bilateral relations between the Center and the newspapers, and exploring opportunities for further development.
