The journal publishes research papers and scientific studies in accordance with the following publication rules:

First- Publication Requirements:

  • The research must demonstrate originality, innovation, and novelty in both topic and content.
  • It must adhere to academic integrity and to the recognized scientific methods and tools in its field.
  • It must not have been previously published, submitted for publication elsewhere, or extracted from research that has already been published.
  • It must be linguistically and typographically sound.
  • Research submissions are accepted in both Arabic and English.

 

Second- Technical Guidelines:

  • The research must be submitted to the journal electronically in both Word and PDF formats, together with the researcher’s CV outlining their academic and professional activities.
  • A separate page must be allocated before the research pages, containing the following: the title of the research, the name of the researcher or researchers in both Arabic and English, the institution to which they belong, and the correspondence address. This should then be followed by the research pages, beginning with the first page on which only the research title appears. ‏
  • The research must include two abstracts, one in Arabic and one in English, each not exceeding 250 words. Each abstract must include an introduction to the research, its objectives, its significance, and its main recommendations.
  • Keywords must be placed below each abstract to indicate the fields addressed by the research, provided that they do not exceed five words.
  • The name of the researcher or researchers must not be stated explicitly in the body of the research, nor should there be any indication revealing their identity or identities.
  • The four page margins, top, bottom, right, and left, must each be 3 cm, and line spacing must be single. ‏
  • The font Simplified Arabic, size 16, regular, must be used for the body text and abstracts, with bold used for headings, size 12 for footnotes, and size 10 for tables and figures.
  • The font Times New Roman must be used for English text, size 12, regular, for the body text and abstracts, with bold used for headings, and size 8 for footnotes, tables, and figures.
  • Page numbering must appear at the bottom center of each page.
  • Clear copies of the illustrative figures, images, and documents included in the research must be attached.
  • A list of references must be placed at the end of the research, following the documentation style adopted by the journal.

 

Third- Documentation:

  • References and quotations must be documented in accordance with the American Psychological Association, APA style, or by using the footnote system.
  • A list of Arabic references, followed by foreign references, must be placed at the end of the research in alphabetical order according to the author’s last name, then first name, then year of publication, then title, then place of publication, then publisher.
  • The research must be accompanied by a list of references transliterated from Arabic, romanized, arranged alphabetically in English according to the last name of the first author.

 

Fourth- Peer Review:

  • The editorial board shall conduct a preliminary review of the research and decide whether it is eligible for peer review or should be rejected.
  • If the research is deemed ineligible for peer review, the researcher shall be notified accordingly, and the journal shall not be obliged to state the reason for rejection.
  • If the research is approved as eligible for peer review, the researcher shall be notified accordingly, and it shall be sent to at least two reviewers.
  • Once the reviewers’ reports are complete, the researcher shall be informed of the decision in accordance with one of the following cases:
  • A - Acceptance of the research for publication.
    • B - Acceptance of the research for publication after revision.
    • C - Revision of the research, followed by resubmission for peer review.
    • D - Declining to accept and publish the research.
    • In the event of a difference of opinion between the reviewers, the research shall be sent to a third reviewer for a deciding opinion.
    • If the research is accepted, the researcher shall be granted a letter confirming acceptance of the research for publication.
    • The editorial board shall retain the reasons for rejection in the event that the research is not accepted for publication.

     

    Fifth- General Rules:

    • All copyright and publication rights are reserved to the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Biography Documentation Center, and no part of the journal may be reprinted, republished, or reproduced in any form or by any means, whether electronic or mechanical, including photocopying, recording, storage in any information system, or retrieval thereof, without obtaining written permission from the Editor in Chief of the journal.
    • The published research does not represent the opinion of the Center, but rather that of the researcher, and the Center bears no moral or legal responsibility for what is contained in such research.
    • If the research is accepted for publication, all publication rights shall transfer to the journal, which shall have the right to republish it in print or electronically, and to include it in local and international databases, whether for a fee or free of charge, without the need to obtain the researcher’s permission.
    • The researcher may not republish their accepted research in any other print or electronic publication outlet without written permission from the Editor in Chief of the journal.
    • The editorial board shall determine the priorities for publication of the research and its technical arrangement.
    • The journal does not charge publication fees.
